Being off work is slightly disorienting me because I really don't like not having stuff to do. I'll have to get over that though because honestly the few days off will help me process everything that has happened in the last six weeks. I did a prepoo on Friday and let it sit most of the day. The Red Pimento Oil treatment may be stripping the color off the gray faster than I want but there was no green this time lol. For info on that click here. If it wasn't so good on my hair I might abandon it but I love it. And let's face it my hair is going to grow back in gray no matter what I do short of dying it again. And for the record, I'm almost five weeks posts relaxer at this point. As I was rolling up my hair yesterday for the flexirod set and I see nice white gray hair peaking through. On the plus side gray hair is thicker than other hair per my hairdresser. On the down side really it's been FIVE weeks and I just got the permanent dye done like two weeks ago. Just frustrating.

First Day Home & New Recipe
So today is the first day of my work from home project. Don't have the project yet and kinda not stressing on that really. It was nice to not be in a rush this morning even when I woke up like clockwork as if I had somewhere to be. Didn't do much and almost took a nap when Fedex showed up with a delivery for me. That was more interesting than Young & the Restless which is building up to the who killed Daisy storyline and is just not intriguing. Bold & the Beautiful took an unexpected turn when the would be newlyweds were unexpectedly reunited contrary to someone's plan. Ehh didn't finish watching it so I can't say what happened and I know I don't super care.
I was planning on making a cloned chicken crispers recipe from Chili's but I'm all out of self-rising flour. Ended up finding the recipe I'm going to paste below for a clone of Popeye's naked chicken strips. I doubled it because I had a lot of chicken strips but I'd recommend reducing the salt and if you like a kick, add paprika or chili power or cayenne because on it's own it's tasty but not tangy. Added a side of pasta and dinner is served.

Dinner's Up
Okay since it was wash day and I was going to be in curlers after 3PM there was no way I was trekking out to PF Chang's for dinner. I was feeling Asian food though so I figured I'd do something Asian inspired with what we had here. I grabbed the chicken thighs and then raided my spice cabinet for the soy sauce, brown sugar, Hoison sauce, rice wine vinegar, garlic, and a teriyaki sauce. I sliced the chicken in three or four pieces depending on the size of the thigh and placed them in a large baking dish.
I put about half a teaspoon of dry ginger in a medium sized bowl, added half a cup of brown sugar, about 1/4 cup of natural rice wine vinegar, 1/4 cup of garlic seasoned rice wine vinegar, half a cup of soy sauce, two tablespoons of minced garlic, two teaspoons of Hoison sauce, and 1/4 cup or so of teriyaki sauce. Mixed that just a bit till it was well blended and then poured most of it on the chicken reserving around 1/4 cup if I wanted to use it later. Covered the dish with foil and let it cook for about 25 minutes on 325 because some of the chicken was a tiny bit frozen when I cut it. I remove the foil and let it cut for another 25 minutes at 350 and it was on and popping. Especially on top of the white rice that was on the side. If you like your chicken a little on the over done side about 10 more minutes at 350 will put it in that arena (had to do that for mom who DESTROYED her chicken). Next time I make it I'll take pictures but the half empty pan looks sad lol. Have a good Sunday and back to the game for me.

Hello World
I'm waiting to resolve some forwarding issues from the primary name to make sure it directs to what is actually published. That's what happens when you take a while to start a new blog--you forget all the things that need to get done in order to make it all work at the right speed. I forgot about GoDaddy's instant page thing too--don't need it cause I'm not going to host there clearly but eh c'est la vie. It took me a while to come up with the name for this blog because I was trying to figure out what direction I wanted to go in. I've been blogging on and off since the early nineties (which yes means I'm in my 30s, 36 to be exact) revealing more or less information about my life as the moment struck me.

Glad I Washed Early, Surprised by my Rinse
I may have to dye my hair with a permanent color one more time. I did
my normal wash day routine and was getting ready to start my applying my
leave in when I looked at my hair and got a shock. Nearly all of the
color was gone from my ends which isn't a huge deal as I expected it to
come out eventually (not two weeks later but eventually). The roots
where there had been a lot of gray were tinged green in certain spots.
If I hadn't had so much gray to start with that wouldn't have been a
problem but when I say I was REALLY salt and pepper just trust me.
Thankfully I am such good friends with my stylist because one panicked
text later my hair was headed back to black and I won't look like I'm
prepping for St. Patrick's Day early. I haven't used a rinse in forever
so really had never seen it. I rinsed it myself today but really will
probably be at the shop for a nice permanent color in a few weeks since
my gray seems to be backhanding the semi permanent.

More Updates
I posted a few weeks ago that I needed to make some changes on the job
front and went about looking for a new one. I've applied all over my
area (well almost) and closer to where I call home. So far no bites
from home but I could get back into teaching and find a new branch of
psychology to get into locally. I really wasn't sure what the future
would hold and by no means is this a lock but in two weeks there are
three opportunities to pursue (one semi near home) and the ache of
uncertainty is not as strong as it was. I know it's time to leave here
and I'm happy about that but I'm also not in a panic anymore. Prayer
and being a good person helps out a lot with regaining calm. Thanks for
everyone who added to my prayer warriors a few weeks ago. Not quite
over but there's a potential in sight.
