not sure when I posted last but it's not when I wanted to for sure. There's lot to get to so if you don't have a lot of time then you may want to head on to something else and come back later lol. Well the last two weeks has been jammed pack. After moving in, finally getting our stuff and unpacking slowly but surely I had things on my agenda almost immediately. Lots of trainings and planning meetings and then last week was prepping three brand new courses, not completely alone I have gotten a lot of help from the current staff as well as the new staff, and getting things set up, tweaking calendars and trying to plan things out to fill 16 weeks of teaching instead of five. I mostly finished that on Friday and had minor things to tweak yesterday and today and while it doesn't feel perfect I am ready for the semester.
I promised since this was the first week of classes I would get back to my self care routine. That was partially delayed because a box I sent to the HTSNBLI (or the house that shall not be lived in) was lost in the whole we had to find a new place and forward mail again hubbub. I'm sure you're wondering what that had to do with anything but that had my hair vitamins and plain old vitamins and other things that were part of my wellness routine. I figured I wouldn't need them for a week as we would be busy traveling and unpacking but it showed up a few days ago lol. Friday I also finished my long day in the office and let someone wash my hair. I haven't found a stylist to do my relaxer and keep debating doing my own even though I am more on the 99-1 end of that scale as I'm deathly afraid to do my own hair and damage it on that level. I think I mentioned during the last update that my hair has felt like a poof ball with the humidity and my lack of time and attention to it and that was evident then. She didn't quite comb through it the way I wanted her to but it was okay and the flat iron job was pretty good. Gave me hope that my hair hadn't completely broken off but it definitely needs more TLC than I have been given it. With the exception of a few hours yesterday it's been tucked away and I'm going to try to nurse it to at least 12 weeks post. I was convinced in my brain that it had been longer since my new growth was so freaking thick but nope I relaxed last on June 7th so I have another two weeks to hit 12. I may not make it though. That will really depend on whether or not I can find a local stylist that is okay with stretching, whose prices don't terrify me and who not scissor happy. After seven years with my old stylist all of this makes me VERY nervous. I'll keep you updated on that.
Mom has been impressed with the fact that the brown quotient is noticeably higher in Indiana than it was in Arkansas. Breaking down the population differences is a moot point but if she can be happy with that for now I can be happy as well. Oh and while I can't find these lovely Seasoned Skillets we were eating with lots of things and to date haven't been able to find red wine vinaigrette salad dressing I have found an old obsession--Thai Peanut Chow Mein oooohhhhh so good. Okay I should be winding down now. I'll tell you all about my new phone later.
Have a good one.
Glad things are working out.
ReplyDeleteThanks me too. Huge move but lots of upsides now that I'm here.
DeleteHope you are able to find a new stylist soon. Hang in there 12 weeks will be here soon.
ReplyDeleteThere are a couple I want to get some feedback on but haven't had a chance to ask about. Either way it will get relaxed but it may be a one shot deal if I don't like the results.
DeleteGood to hear you are settling down well:)
ReplyDeleteYep things are good thankfully
